After waiting over a year for an apology, a contract or some sort of ratification to the dispute over the wrongful dismissal of Joseph McGuirk from Booze Emporium/ Prohibition, the situation concerning the trendy Leslieville restaurant has come to a head. On Thursday, July 30th Joseph (Joey) McGuirk went to see Michael Summerfield at Prohibition to discuss the letter shown below. Mr. Summerfield refused to acknowledge that neither he nor his partners legally own the concept or trade names of Booze Emporium or Prohibition. Acknowledging that Joseph McGuirk personally holds the pending trademarks for Booze Emporium and Prohibition, Michael sarcastically wished Joey “good luck” on his pursuit of justice, and dismissed any obligations he had with his former partner. The following attached letter has been served, and a “cease and desist” order, as well as litigation over the obvious breach of contract, are forthcoming. Further information will be posted on the www.beatprohibition.com website. |
